Customizing icons

You can create customized icons with the settings you most commonly use and place them in the Icon palette.

Note: Customized icon models are stored in the Knowledge Objects/Icon Palette Settings directory and called Display.a7d, Sound.a7d, and so on.

To create a customized icon:

  1. Drag the icon from the Icon palette to the flowline.
  2. Open the Property inspector and change the properties to reflect the default properties you want to use.
  3. Drag the customized icon from the flowline back to the Icon palette.

The customized icon is now the default. When you drag an icon from the Icon palette to the flowline, it will have the properties you created.

If you want to use the original Authorware version of an icon before you customized it, hold down the Control key while dragging the icon from the main palette. This overrides any custom changes you made to the icon and places the original Authorware version of the icon on the flowline. The custom default model is still retained; to use it, you drag the icon from the Icon palette.
